Privacy policy
MyYardPro (myyard.pro and the MyYardPro app) and YardWork (yardwork.pro) are run by the same company. This policy covers both. It says what we collect, why, who sees it and how to get it removed. "You" means a homeowner booking yard work, a pro doing it, anyone visiting these sites, or a customer a pro has added to the app.
The short version
- We collect what we need to connect you with a pro or a customer, and nothing more.
- We never sell your information.
- A pro sees a customer's name, address and job details once they take the job. A customer sees a pro's name, photo and rating before booking, and the payment methods the pro accepts. A homeowner's review of a pro is public on the pro's page, with their first name and the month.
- If a pro added you as their customer, we hold your details for that pro and never contact you or market to you.
- Write to us and we'll delete what we hold about you.
What we collect
On the waitlist (myyard.pro). Your email address, and your ZIP code if you give it.
When a pro signs up (yardwork.pro). Your name, business name if any, email, mobile phone number, where you work (cities and ZIP codes) and anything you add in the notes.
When you use the app. Your name, phone number and email. The addresses where you want work done. What you tell us about each job: the service, yard size, extras, how soon you need it and any photos you add. Messages and price proposals between you and your pro. Ratings and comments after a job. For pros: the services you offer, how customers can pay you (and the handle or link for each payment app you choose), a profile photo, your service area, whether you're online and, while you're online, your approximate location so nearby jobs can reach you.
When a pro adds their own customer. What the pro enters about a customer they already have: usually a name, mobile number, email, address, notes, and the details of each visit. See People a pro adds.
From your device. The kind of phone and app version you use, a push notification token if you turn notifications on, crash reports and basic usage (which screens you open and when) so we can fix what breaks. Our websites keep ordinary server logs, including your IP address.
We don't ask for government ID numbers, bank account numbers or card numbers. Payments go directly between customer and pro, and we never see them.
Why we collect it
- To connect a customer's job with a pro who covers that area and does that work.
- To show prices, caps and final prices, and keep a record of what was agreed.
- To send the messages a job needs: confirmations, "on the way", price proposals, "done" and receipts.
- To tell you when we launch near you, if you asked us to.
- To review a pro's application and keep the service safe for everyone.
- To find and fix problems in the app.
- To meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Who sees it
The other side of your job. When a pro accepts a job, they see the customer's first name, address, phone number (for that job), photos and job details. The customer sees the pro's name, photo and rating before booking, and the payment methods the pro accepts. Neither side's information may be used for anything but that job.
If you both choose to keep in touch. Phone numbers and chat are open from when a pro accepts a job until a week after it's paid. After a paid job, either side can offer to keep in touch. Only if both say yes do the pro and the customer keep seeing each other's phone number and chat after that, and the customer appears in the pro's client list. Either side can end it at any time in the app, and the phones and chat close at once (unless the job's own window is still open).
Anyone, for reviews. A homeowner's rating and written review of a pro (their first name, the month, the stars and the comment) are public on the pro's page, and we use ratings to recommend pros. We never show the reviewer's last name, address or the job's date.
Companies that work for us. We use other companies to host our data, send email, texts and push notifications, report crashes and measure usage. They may only use your information to do that work for us. We'll list them here when they change.
When the law requires it. If a court or law enforcement requires it, or to protect someone's safety, or to enforce our terms.
If the company changes hands. If we're bought or merge with another company, your information goes with the service, under this policy.
We never sell your information, and we don't share it with advertisers.
People a pro adds
Pros can add customers they already have, to run those jobs in the app. If a pro added you, you haven't signed up with us, so here is what we do with your details.
- We hold them for the pro. The pro decides what's in their list, and the pro is responsible for any message they send you.
- We never contact you or market to you because a pro added you, and we never sell or share your details for marketing.
- No other pro sees them. If two pros add you, each sees only what they entered.
- Staff don't browse them. Our staff see only counts, such as how many customers a pro has. A staff member reads your details only to handle a legal request or a request to delete them, and every such read is logged with who read it and why.
- Ask us to delete them. Write to us through our contact page with the mobile number or email the pro has for you. We'll find you in every pro's list and delete you from all of them.
- How long we keep them. Until the pro deletes you or closes their account, or 24 months after your last job with that pro (24 months after you were added, if you never had a job), whichever comes first.
Texts and notifications
If you give us your mobile number and agree to texts, we'll text you about your jobs and your account. Message frequency depends on your jobs. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop them, or HELP for help. Stopping texts can mean you miss a time-sensitive job update, so the app will tell you another way where it can.
You can turn push notifications off in your phone's settings. Some messages, such as a price proposal waiting for your answer, still reach you by another channel because a job can't move without them.
How long we keep it
Waitlist entries until we've launched in your area and you've had a chance to join, or until you ask us to remove them. Account and job records while your account is open, plus what tax and legal rules require us to keep afterwards. A customer a pro added, as People a pro adds says. Logs and crash reports for a short, fixed time.
Your choices
- See or correct your information. Most of it is in the app under Profile. For the rest, write to us.
- Delete it. Email us from the address on your account and we'll delete your account and personal information, except records we're required to keep.
- Stop messages. Reply STOP to texts, unsubscribe from any non-essential email, or change notifications in the app.
Residents of some states have additional rights, including the right to know what we hold and to have it deleted. Write to us and we'll honor them.
Children
MyYardPro and YardWork are for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think we have, tell us and we'll delete it.
Security
We keep your information behind access controls, encrypt it in transit, and limit who at the company can see it. No system is perfect. If something goes wrong with your information, we'll tell you.
Changes
We'll post any change here with a new version and effective date. If a change matters to you, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
